Beethoven and the Juilliard String Quartet
Tue June 30, 2020 | 7:30 pm
Juilliard String Quartet
Beethoven, String Quartet, Op. 18, No. 1
Britten, String Quartet No. 3
Brahms, String Quartet, Op. 51, No. 2
The Festival launches its brand new Robert Mann Chamber Music Series, named for a beloved educator, composer, and “one of the country’s most admired and deeply loved musicians” (The Boston Globe). It is fitting to begin this exciting new series with a visit from the Juilliard String Quartet, of which Mann was the founding first violinist, and which The Boston Globe has called “the most important American quartet in history.” The ensemble performs string quartets by Britten, Brahms, and Beethoven, whose 250th birthday we celebrate in 2020.
Make it an evening. Purchase a fresh, grab-and-go dinner on Thursday and Friday evenings to enjoy on the lawn or at one of many picnic tables.
