Jonathan Kuo

Jonathan Kuo joined the Colorado Music Festival violin section in 2018. He began his professional career as a violin fellow with the New World Symphony for two seasons and performed with the Stavanger Symfoniorkester in Norway for one season. Jonathan has been a section violinist in the Jacksonville Symphony since 2016.

He has studied and concertized at music festivals including Astoria, Aspen, Britten-Pears, Pacific, Music Masters Course Japan, and Schleswig-Holstein. In 2008 Jonathan toured China with the Juilliard Orchestra and performed with the Sapporo Symphony in Hokkaido, Japan in 2009. More recently Jonathan can be heard on the Tedeschi Trucks album Signs.

A Los Angeles native, Jonathan began studying the violin at age five and won his first competition one year later. He received his Bachelor of Music from Juilliard and his Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music. Major teachers include Lu-Bin Yu, Bing Wang, Masao Kawasaki, and Yoko Takebe.
