Born in Shanghai, China, violinist Yinbin Qian joined Colorado Music Festival in 2012. He recently won concerto competition from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in New Jersey, as well as honors chamber music competition in 2016, where he is finishing his Doctor of Music Arts degree. Mr. Qian earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from Shanghai Conservatory of Music in China and earned his Master of Music Degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music in California. Mr. Qian also earned his Advanced Professional Studies certificate in Viola Performance from the Bard Conservatory of Music in New York and toured seven countries in Europe as a violist with the Bard Conservatory orchestra in 2014. Mr. Qian’s violin teachers have included Xinzhi Chen, Wei He, Weigang Li, Ilya Kaler and Carmit Zori.
Mr. Qian performed with The Orchestra Now from Bard College at Carnegie Hall in 2015. In the same year, he also appeared for Rutgers University’s 250th anniversary concert at Alice Tully Hall of Lincoln Center in NYC and served as concertmaster of Rutgers Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Qian was a violin fellow member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago from 2011-2013. He has attended Maine Chamber Music Seminar of Snow Pond Music Festival in Maine, Round Top Music Festival Institute in Texas, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in Germany and Asian Youth Orchestra in Hong Kong.
Mr. Qian is currently playing with Baltimore, Albany, Harrisburg and Princeton Symphony Orchestras regularly.
