Yinbin Qian

Born in Shanghai, China, violinist Yinbin Qian joined Colorado Music Festival in 2012. Qian has worked in Detroit and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra as a guest sectional violinist. He also has been serving as a tenure violinist at Albany, Hartford, Princeton and Harrisburg Symphony Orchestras. Qian has been to a number of music festivals such as QingPei Music Festival and Asian Youth Orchestra in China, Colorado Music Festival, Chamber Music Seminar in Maine, Round Top Music, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany, and etc. 

Qian joined Civic Orchestra of Chicago in 2011 as a sectional violinist. He has performed in Lincoln Center in NYC as the concertmaster of Rutgers Symphony Orchestra, as well as in Carnegie Hall as a guest violist of The Orchestra Now. Qian also performed at the John. F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C as the tenure member of the Grammy-winning group, the Albany Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, Qian was invited to give recital and lecture at Hong Kong Baptist University. 

Qian earned his Doctor of Music Arts degree at Rutgers University in New Jersey. In addition, he holds Advanced Performance Studies Diploma from Bard Conservatory of Music in New York, Master degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and Bachelor degree from Shanghai Conservatory of Music. 

Qian currently teaches violin as a lecturer at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in China. Besides that, he also has been judging multiple music competitions in Asia such as Singapore International Solo & Ensemble Competition, Zhejiang Province String Competition, and etc.
