El director de orquesta ganador de seis premios Grammy y director musical emérito de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Detroit, Leonard Slatkin, se une al Festival con un programa que celebra el sonido distintivo estadounidense. Este homenaje a los compositores estadounidenses comienza con Rodeo, de Aaron Copland, con su icónico «Hoedown», seguido de una chacona de la romántica banda sonora de John Corigliano para la película El violín rojo.
