Our mission is to inspire and connect community members of all ages by providing access to the best of the world’s music through education and performance. Colorado Music Festival & Center for Musical Arts is a one-of-a-kind organization that provides a broad spectrum of music education opportunities and world-class performances to citizens throughout Boulder County and beyond.
World Class Festival
The Colorado Music Festival produces 20+ classical music concerts each summer in the sonically resonant Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder, Colorado. The Festival draws talented musicians from across North America and beyond. The majority of these musicians act as concertmasters, principals, or assistant principals in their home orchestras. When they come together under the direction of Music Director Peter Oundjian, the result is transcendent!
Live, with World Premieres
We were back in the concert hall in 2021, to critical national acclaim! Our new fans around the globe continue to support our inventive performances. The past season included four world premieres. Fresh, vibrant new works by Joan Tower, Aaron Jay Kernis, Hannah Lash, and rising composer Joel Thompson thrilled audiences and have already been picked up by major orchestras across the country. Colorado Music Festival is staking new ground in the future of classical music!
