Oliver Kot

Oliver Kot is a violinist from Wayne, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia, where he studied with Choong-Jin Chang, Principal Violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He is an undergraduate member of The Juilliard School’s Class of 2011, where he studied with Stephen Clapp, and a graduate member of the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Class of 2013, where he studied with The Cleveland Orchestra’s Concertmaster, William Preucil. During the year, Oliver is the Principal Second Violin of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since 2015. Prior to the Charlotte Symphony, Oliver was a member of the National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra in Beijing, China, a position he won upon graduation in 2013. In addition to the Colorado Music Festival, Oliver has also been a member of the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, the Aspen Music Festival, and the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, in which he served as Principal Second Violin and performed Saint-Saëns’ “Havanaise” as soloist. Oliver has also served as a musician for the Canton Symphony and the Akron Symphony in Ohio, as well as the New World Symphony in Miami.
